From the seventies to today |

to our creativity in developing and designing new packaging as well as our
competence in production, sales and logistics we have developed into a major
partner for our customers for more than thirty years. Always state-of-the-art
we offer high tech at all production stages and guarantee a maximum amount
of innovation, quality and flexibility. The seventies In 1970, the cardboard refinement company Knapp is founded in Schwetzingen, a small town in Southern Germany known for its asparagus, by Hans Dieter Knapp and Helmut Kiefer. The first production site was located in Scheffelstrasse. In 1976 the company moves to the premises still used today, situated in Dortmunder Strasse 12. The eighties Opening of the new facilities in Dortmunder Strasse 10. In 1980, a fully automatic varnishing machine is put into service. In the following years the site is constantly being expanded and new printing presses featuring inline coating as well as a 4-colour printing press are put into service. The nineties Opening of the new production site in Dortmunder Strasse 8. Printing and processing are physically separated from each other. The pre-press is constantly being expanded to digital processing. The packaging development department is equipped with a CAD system. In 1994, both the premises in Dortmunder Str. 6 and the production site for folding boxes are put into service. In 1996 we are certified DIN ISO 9001. Today Up to today we have seen a constant development process. While doing so we are always looking for new techniques and are trying to optimise our work flow and products. Since the beginning of the year 2000 this process has not only happened at our head office in Schwetzingen, but also on our premises in Waibstadt. That is where we produce top-class performance printing presses in the small-scale offset field. Here, processing such as punching and dispatch company are carried out just as professionally as it is done on the premises of the "big brother" in Schwetzingen. |
